Melbourne FL 146

We stood in bitter-cold pre-dawn darkness atop a finger of rock jutting outward into the blackness of space some 5,000 feet above the canyon floor. Our hiking boots adorned with strap-on cleats to grip the snow and ice offered stability as we maneuvered our gear within an 8-foot wide area bordered by shear cliffs that plummeted downward into an unknown blackness. Once all our tripods and cameras were in place all we could do is stand and watch in awe as the pre-dawn light revealed one of the earth’s most amazing creations, The Grand Canyon.
